A New Look to Portland Button Works Coming Soon!

Lately, it has felt like living in a tangled mess of loose ends in the shop, and a few things personally. Those knots are starting to be tied. As we prepare for a major transition, I wanted to give you a map of where we’re headed and an invitation to see us in person.
We are currently in a deep rebuild of our website.
The Split Path: Custom vs. Catalog The new website is designed like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. Right from the start, the path splits to get you exactly where you need to go:
The Custom Path: We are officially retiring the old "Design-O-Matic." In its place, we’re launching a modern, on-site custom designer. It’s faster, more intuitive, and lets you finalize your vision right at checkout.
A note on legacy artwork: If you have artwork currently stored in the Design-O-Matic that you’d like us to save for future use, please let us know soon so we can tuck it away before the old system is retired.
The Catalog Path: On the other side of the path, we are preparing for a steady expansion of our offerings. I’ve been holding back new items and categories specifically for this launch. You can look forward to a lot more books and zines being added to the shelves as we get the new system settled.
See Us in Person: Spirit NW (Free Vendor Room!) We’ll be vending at Spirit NW next week at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Portland (Friday, April 24th through Sunday, April 26th).
While the workshops and presentations require tickets, the vendor room is completely free to the public. Come say hi, browse our selection of books and zines, and check out our restocked botanical button charms. It’s a great way to support the community and see what we’ve been working on while the site has been "fallow."
Onward,
Alex Wrekk
