In this new (!) issue of the long-running Doris zine, Cindy writes about her unique relationship with her friend Elliott and the time they spent squatting in an old empty beach house in Cape Cod following the death of a friend. She writes about the freedom she and Elliott had then, to devote themselves to the tasks they felt were most important. For Cindy, it was pouring over "how to" books, teaching herself how to build houses. But mostly, Cindy focuses on the hope and support she and Elliott were able to create for each other in the wake of grief and tragedy. 

This issue also includes an essay about her decision, as a white person, to make reperations in order to fight racism and watching lambs being born. 

As always, I am struck by Cindy's ability to write such thoughtful, vulnerable, and hopeful essays. A must-read for every zinester! - KA
