To ensure the highest quality for your custom buttons, we provide layered templates for users working with professional design software (Adobe Creative Suite, GIMP, Affinity, etc.).

Not a Designer? You don’t need these templates! Head to any Custom Button listing and use our built-in Onsite Designer to create your art right in your browser.

Technical Specifications

To keep our production fast and affordable, Portland Button Works operates on a "print-ready" basis. Please ensure your files meet these modern standards:

  • Preferred Format: PDF (Highly recommended). We also accept high-resolution JPG or PNG.

  • Resolution: 300 DPI is required.

  • Color Mode: RGB. Our high-end laser printing process is optimized for RGB to ensure your colors stay vibrant and don't turn "muddy."

  • Fonts: Please Outline your fonts (Illustrator) or Flatten your layers (Photoshop) before saving to ensure your text doesn't shift.

  • The "Cut Line" Rule: Do NOT remove the Outer Circle. We need this visible to line up our die cutters and ensure your design is perfectly centered.

Understanding the Layered Guides

  • The Inner Circle (Face): This represents the front of your button. Keep all essential text and logos inside this line.

  • The Bleed Area: The space between the inner and outer circles. Your background color or image must extend all the way to the outer circle to ensure a clean wrap around the edge.

  • The Outer Circle (Cut Line): This is where we cut the paper. This must be visible on your final file.

  2. Email: Send your artwork to portlandbuttonworks@gmail.com (Please include your Order number in the subject line).
