Totally Different Head issue 4
I love how this zine is scrappy and thoughtful yet also a sophisticated look at art and music through the lens of punk and DIY. It's all the good things all at once! You could say it has interviews and reviews, but it's more than that and I really appreciate it.
There's interviews with Erika Elizabeth and Samantha Wendal about punk flyers with their history, recognizability, and physical construction. There's another interview with Grace Ambrose of Thrilling Living that touches on flyer creating and punk motifs and DIY aesthetic that can sometimes come more from what you can do with your limitations. And an interview with Stevie of Mope Grooves and a lovely interview with Osa Atoe of Shotgun Seamstress zine about pottery, aging in punk, and the importance of DIY in punk. Plus, reviews of releases by Table Sugar, Blues Lawyer, Ex-Kids, B.R.U.C.E., Trash Romeo, Collate, Marissa Anderson, Bill Orcutt & Chris Corsano, Baczkowski/Padmanabha.
It's just a good, thoughtful, DIY, punk fanzine and you should check it out!
